GUANGZHOU,April19(Xinhua)--China"spursuitofhigh-qualitydevelopmentwillproducenotablepositivespillovereffectsfortheglobaleconomy,facilitatingtradeandcontributingtoglobaldecarbonizationefforts,accordingtoparticipantsatanongoinginternationalforuminthesouthernChinesecityofGuangzhou.

Theconference,UnderstandingChina--GreaterBayAreaDialogue,themed"Chinesemodernizationandnewopportunitiesfortheworld"andscheduledfromApril18to20,hasattractedcelebratedfiguresfromtheglobalpolitical,academicandeconomiccommunities,frombothhomeandabroad.

FredHu,chairmanofPrimaveraCapitalGroup,saidthatChina"shigh-qualitydevelopmentisofgreatsignificancetopromotingproductionandforeigntrade,andensuringthesecurityoftheglobalsupplychain.

"China"seconomicstrengthhasimprovedsignificantlyover40yearsofrapidgrowth,andnowithasassumedanincreasinglybiggerroleintheworldeconomy,"Husaid.

HecitedthefactthatChina"sgrossdomesticproductaccountedfor18.5percentoftheglobaltotalin2021,muchhigherthanthe7.7percentregisteredin2001.

Alongwithitseconomictakeoff,Chinahasnowbecomeamajortradingpartnerformorethan140countriesandregions,cementingitspositionasthelargestcountryinglobaltradeingoods,Hunoted.

Asubstantiveupgradetotheagreementwillpavethewayfordeeperregionaleconomicintegrationandastrongerrules-basedmultilateraltradingsystem,Gohsaid.

Lookingforward,HusaidhebelievesthatChina"scontinuouseffortsinexpandingopening-upwillboosttheconfidenceofoverseasbusinessesandforgemorestableandsustainabletradeandinvestmentties.

Thecountry"spursuitofthedualcarbongoals,itspaceofdeploymentofrenewableenergyandthedevelopmentofelectricalvehiclesareallverypromisingsigns,Tubianaadded.

"TheworldneedsChinatomakedecarbonizationaffordable,andthat"swhatChinahasdoneinthepastforagoodnumberofcleanenergies,"saidTubiana.

Chinashouldcompletetheenergytransitionatanearlydate,furtherconsolidateitspositionasagloballeaderinclimatechangeresponseandpromotethesustainabledevelopmentoftheworld,accordingtoHu.

Tothatend,Chinashouldleveragegreentechnology,scaleupsupportfordecarbonizationandgreenfinance,andincreasetheshareofrenewablesintheenergymix,Husaid.
